At the Wari La Pass in Ladakh, the Indian Army and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) successfully wrapped off the historic HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2. This event demonstrated India's growing capabilities in high-altitude drone technology and represented a significant step forward in the country's defence modernisation.

A Brief About The HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2
The event, which took place on September 17–18, 2024, demonstrated the Indian Army's innovative use of technology to improve readiness for combat. It provided a platform for indigenous drone manufacturers to demonstrate their innovative solutions tailored for extreme conditions.
With a primary focus on surveillance and First-Person View (FPV) operations, eight of the top drone manufacturers displayed fifteen revolutionary drones on the second day of the event. These drones underwent extensive testing in the challenging Wari La environment, which includes heights exceeding 15,000 feet. The remarkable performance of these drones under such difficult circumstances highlighted India's increasing capacity to use drone technologies in the most difficult terrains.
This historic occasion was seen by high-ranking representatives of the Indian Army and Air Force. The Fire and Fury Corps' General Officer Commanding Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla emphasized the value of creativity and indigenous innovation in modern warfare. Along with other senior officers, he put special attention on the revolutionary role drones play in both conventional and non-conventional combat, and lauded the participating companies for their latest technologies.
Special attention was granted to the winners of the logistics and FPV categories during a felicitation session that honored all participating organizations. The event demonstrated how new technologies have the power to completely alter the mechanics of combat, especially in high-altitude operations where drones can be used as a force multiplier for tasks involving surveillance, information gathering, and quick response times.
The Indian Army's emphasis on 2024 as the "Year of Technology Absorption" was strengthened by HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2. In line with their growing importance in recent international wars, such those in Ukraine and Israel, the event demonstrated the critical role drones would play in military operations in the future. Drones have completely changed traditional battlefields by making military tactics more accurate and effective.
With HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2, India is better positioned to fortify its defences and become a worldwide centre for high-altitude drone technology. In keeping with the principles of Raksha Atmanirbharta (Defence Self-Reliance), India's leadership in defence technology is being advanced by the Indian Army's emphasis on indigenous technologies, especially in the field of extreme-condition drones. India is leading the way in global defence modernisation by using these approaches, improving both military and civilian capabilities in the world's most challenging environments.

insideFPV at the HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2
As one of the leading manufacturers of First-Person View (FPV) drone technology in India, we have been awarded as the winner in the “FPV Drones category” at HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2024, organized by the Indian Army and FICCI.

Our FPV Drones demonstrated remarkable speed and flexibility, finishing all the nine hurdles in just 2 minutes 36 seconds. This outstanding accomplishment shows our dedication to creating trusted and resilient solutions for high-altitude operations in challenging settings.

Held in parallel with the event HIMTECH 2024, HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2024 offered a forum for assessing and contrasting the capabilities of several aerial, ground, aquatic, and underwater drones in the difficult Ladakh terrain. The goal of the event was to find innovative technology that could improve the Indian Armed Forces' and Border Guards' operating capabilities in high-altitude environments.
"We are deeply grateful for this esteemed honor," the team of insideFPV remarked. "This triumph is evidence of our persistent commitment to quality and innovation. We're dedicated to advancing FPV drone technology to satisfy the changing requirements of our armed services."

With our success at HIM-DRONE-A-THON 2024, India's defence capabilities and the accomplishment of our national vision - 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) are strengthened by the increasing significance of indigenous drone technology.
